We love swimwear over here at Closet Core and were LONG overdue for a new design on our roster, so we are over the moon to introduce you to the Faye Swimsuit pattern! Sporty and fun with clean, minimalist lines, Faye comes in multiple variations so you can make the swimsuit(s) of your summer dreams (especially since we're celebrating with 20% off the pattern in print or PDF!)
Let's talk about the design! Our biggest priority when we approached this pattern was designing something that felt modern, clean, and timeless. We wanted Faye to feel as sleek and fresh as possible, so we kept the silhouette simple. The result feels fresh and sporty and will never go out of style.

FAYE VIEWS
As always, we love giving you lots of variations and opportunities to customize to your heart's content. That means with Faye you get a classic one-piece maillot and two different bikini styles, so there is something for everyone.
What all versions share is a slightly cheeky cut in the tush and a lovely scoop neckline. View A is a simple pull-on bikini top with straight straps in the back and elastic sewn into the underbust, along with a high rise bikini bottom. View B has a bit more support with an underbust band and fun crossed straps in the back, along with a classic low rise bikini bottom - all these pieces are mix and matchable so you can customize your level of support and coverage. View C is a sophisticated one-piece that ties in the back with adjustable straps.

THE FINISH
What makes this pattern unique is the use of clean finishes. We developed a technique for sewing the elastic along the neckline that keeps the stitching completely invisible, resulting in a beautifully clean edge. While we still use the classic zig zag method to secure elastic around the legs, the clean neckline makes this feel very expensive and high-end, doncha think?

SUPPLIES + FABRICS FOR FAYE
In the spirit of keeping things simple, the only supplies you really need to make this suit are swim fabric, swim elastic, and stretch needles. This suit is fully lined, but you can use your choice of matching fabric or swim lining inside, or... make a fully reversible suit using contrast fabrics! We have a Youtube tutorial coming out in the next week or so that will walk you through just how to accomplish that, so consider doubling your yardage in two colours to make the switcheroo.
Of course, we are carrying absolutely everything you need to make this pattern over at Core Fabrics. We've sourced a very high-quality range of swim solids made from recycled nylon, and it's what we used to make all our samples (please note we are still waiting on a handful of colours to arrive - sigh, Covid - including the light lavender, eggplant, neon coral and neon purple. No timeline yet on when those will be arriving, although we are hoping in July). That said we've got 8 lovely shades in stock right now, in addition to a collection of fun deadstock swim prints, not to mention my all-time fave rubber swimwear elastic and high-quality recycled nylon lining in tan and black.
While we love how clean and sporty Faye looks in a solid, it's also the perfect canvas for fun prints and colour blocking - we can't wait to see what you make!
FYI, Faye is also for sale at Core Fabrics if you'd like to get everything in one easy checkout!

PATTERN FORMAT
We are thrilled to offer this design in PDF (sizes 0-32) AND print (0-20). We haven't spoken much about the supply chain issues facing the pattern world, but it's been a very tough year trying to get things printed and things were not looking good for a while there. Thankfully, we figured out a solution and have a new printer for the actual pattern itself, so for the first time we are using a sturdy but lightweight bond paper which is MUCH easier to work with than tissue. Because of rising costs, the paper pattern is $21 instead of our standard $20, but you'll see and appreciate the increase in quality. PDF pricing hasn't changed.
Also, projector file fans rejoice - this is our first pattern that includes the projector format! We will hopefully be including these with all future patterns (but no plans at this time to add projector files to older patterns).
And don't forget - Faye is 20% off until Saturday, June 18th at midnight EST! The discount will be automatically applied at checkout.

PATTERN MUSE
We are so happy to have a local Montrealer as our muse for this pattern! Faye is a gifted sewist who makes the BEST activewear, and we love their edgy, modern style, and aspirational coverstitching skills. They also blessed us with their mad modeling skills for this shoot, and we knew it was fate when their sparrow tattoos perfectly lined up with the design lines of the one piece. Thank you Faye! You made our summer with this swimsuit/sewing kismet!

We hope you love Faye as much as we do! Personally, I am going to be LIVING in Faye this summer at the lake. Look for me on a paddleboard near you!
