One of the great joys of making your own jeans is the million ways you can make them your own. And one fun area you can focus your creative energy is the back pocket topstitching! To get your creative juices flowing, we've created this free downloadable of 33 back pocket design templates. Whether you're sewing our Morgan Jeans, Ginger Jeans or Jude Flares (or some other jeans pattern all together!) use our templates to topstitch some fun back pockets for your one-of-a-kind jeans.

How To Transfer the Designs to Your Pockets
- Print your chosen design to 100% scale.
- With a piece of chalk, draw in your seam allowances so you understand how far to extend your stitching.
- If you're sewing stretch denim, use a knit fusible interfacing on the wrong side to help stabilize the fabric.
- Transfer the design to your back pockets. You can do this with transfer paper and a tracing wheel, or by drawing onto a piece of washaway stabilizer that you apply to the pocket as a guide.
- Stitch your design by machine or by hand.
- Press your seam allowances in and topstitch in place, like usual, to the back of your jeans.
Enjoy!

Hi Faye! I’m sending out an email with the link today 😉
Thank you Heather!
I just got my download…Thank you! Thank you! There are some great designs included. I can’t wait to try some out. 🙂
Yay! So glad you like it Meigan!
Just re-read the post – subscribers get the templates tomorrow. Wish it was today – I’m off on a sewing weekend tonight.
Sorry Michelle! I am sending it out with our Black Friday info and didn’t want to bombard everyone with multiple emails this week.
What a brilliant idea!
Thank you! Hope you find it helpful!
Hi, I’m a newsletter subscriber but I didn’t receive the link. Would it be possible to have it sent to me again?
Thank you.
Me too.
Hi – Ordered the Ginger Jeans a while back. Just bought the jeans e-book today. Still haven’t hit the jeans sewing path yet, but I have been sub’d to the list for quite a while and tried signing up, thinking sign-up for the e-book might be a different list. Didn’t work. So, I had to sign in via Facebook w/ Disqus to post. Now I think I am sub’d twice, but still haven’t rec’d link to the pocket design e-book. Update on this? Will a link be sent? Thanks.
So sad I registered to the newsletter one day too late 🙁
Sorry, I am on your mail list and I am unable to find/recieve your pocket patterns. I would really like to apply something new to that area of my Ginger Jeans!!
Thank you this comes handy. Sorry to bother you with that but though I am a suscriber I have been unable to find the file.
Hey, Heather, sorry for bothering you. I am a sbscriber, but I can’t find the file. I am really exsited for trying new pocket designs.
Hi Heather,
I am a subscriber, but I cant seem to find the download for the backpocket design templates. Can you help? Thanks so much! I am loving your patterns!! Paula
Heather,
I made an oops. I deleted the email with the link to the back pocket designs instead of the email telling me about the forthcoming email with the back pocket designs. (I even emptied my trash this morning because I was cleaning up my account, sigh.)
>_<
Is there any chance you will be sending it out again?
Thanks!
Hi Heather! I just purchased both patterns and signed up for the newsletter. How do I find the link to the downloadable pocket designs? Thanxx
Hi there. You should have been sent an email automatically with your download link. If its not in your junk mail shoot us an email at info@closetcasepatterns dot com and we’ll email it to you!
Is there a way to receive this file after the fact? I just ordered the Morgan jeans pattern from you. I am homeless at making my own design!
This just reminded me when I made Calvin’s when I was in 11th grade!
Hi Diane. We send it to our newsletter subscribers; if you sign up you get it automatically. The sign up is just below the blog post. If you’re already subscribed, get in touch with us via email (see our Contact link above) and we’ll email it to you.
subscribed two days ago. Have yet to receive a link to d/l the designs. Was this a one day offer? If so, why keep this post up?
Thanks for subscribing! The email link should have been sent automatically, but if it didn’t turn up, feel free to send us a message at info@closetcasepatterns dot com and we’ll be happy to help!
Can I shrink the size of the arcuates designs to put on children wear?
Please send the template for the back pocket.
