Our Elodie Wrap dress has proven to be a winner! Whether you want to dress it up for a big event or make a simple day dress to run errands in, this is the pattern for you. When we released this dress I made a bit of a styling primer to give you some ideas of just how versatile this dress is. It can be a summery, cotton, casual dress, all the way to a wedding gown, depending on the fabric. Since we launched though, I have been amazed at the sheer volume of variations, and just how different it can look! I thought I would round up a few to get your wheels turning, but there are way more! Go check out the #elodiewrapdress hashtag for even more sewspo! But first, an Elodie parade of beauties!!
SHORT & SWEET
In a pretty floral or a simple solid cotton or linen, this is Elodie at its most basic. The short flutter sleeve is perfect for summer days but covered enough for an air-conditioned office. I love a one-stop shop, outfit-wise. Throw on a pair on sandals or sneakers and you are out the door!
CASUAL FRIDAY
Whether it's for a picnic or a day at the farmer's market, you want to feel cute, but not too fancy...enter the wrap dress. Midi length with the short sleeve or long, you can sit on a blanket in this dress and not feel too overdressed.
FABRIC-TUNITY
There is something about this dress that really shows off beautiful fabric. I am guessing it's the big pattern pieces that don't get broken up by too many style lines or seams. It just makes a great canvas for beautiful fabric, or as I have taken to calling it...a fabric-tunity. I'm just gonna keep saying it till it sticks.
SWISH SWISH
Maxi length, with the long sleeve, this is where Elodie becomes a GOWN. Whether it's for a wedding, Bar Mitzva, or cello concert (!) you can fool the world into thinking you are suffering for fashion in a fancy dress when in fact you are chilling in a comfy robe. Can you believe it?! We fooled them. Oh, and it has pockets.
So what do you think? Are you a casual Elodie? Or are you team gown? Vote in the comments!
