A Tale of Three Roses

Whether it's due to the chilly temps making everyone rethink their wardrobes or the fact it's such a fast and easy sew, this week three of the team made the Rose Blouse and wore them to work. Justine, Heather and Cassie all made the blouse view in under three hours and used three really different fabrics. It felt like a race and some kind of competition reality show. So in that spirit, as every Bachelor and Bachelorette to grace our screens says each week, "Will you accept this Rose?"

A Rose in Crepe

For Justine's vintage-vibe Rose she used this rose print crepe from her stash (so appropriate) and we just love how romantic and drapey it looks! You can see how well this deadstock crepe we used for Heather's sample (which also features roses) works with the dress view too. There is something about the bounce and texture of crepe that makes it fun for dancing.

A Crisp Cotton Rose

Crisp Cotton Stripe

Cassie made her Rose out of some of the leftovers after cutting out these Fran Pajamas. Waste not, want not! We also wanted to test out how this blouse looked in a crisper cotton than we had tried with any of our samples. We love the way the sleeves hold their shape and this stripe looks so much softer on the romantic gathering on the neckline.

A Gauzy Rose

For Heather's version, this double gauze was employed in a creamy white. This super-breathable cotton is equally at home in summer or winter and is both sweet and a little sexy with a flash of black bra underneath. We also think this would be so perfect lengthened into a nightgown for swanning around with a candlestick living your Outlander cosplay fantasy.

So which Rose are you excited to try?
